November 13 – 17, 2012 Yakutsk hosts the second Yakutia Fashion week. The first Yakutia Fashion week was launched a year ago, and it was a great success. The main purpose of this event is to promote and develop the local fashion. This time, several promising designers will come from Moscow to present their new collections and share their experience with the Yakut colleagues.
Yakutsk is the capital city of the Sakha Republic, Russia. It is located about 450 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle. Yakutsk is famous for its abundance of diamonds, and, in fact, it is a major supplier of them. The cultural life of Yakutsk is developing vividly. Yakutia Fashion week, organized by “East Brand” production centre together with “Modelling agency “Aisha” Marfa Fedorova” and with the support of Moscow competition of young fashion designers, and Ministry of the youth policies and sports of the Sakha Republic, is supposed to become one of the most attractive cultural and business events here.

Two participants of the 25th Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Moscow attend Yakutia Fashion week to demonstrate their collections. These are Dasha Gauser and Dima Neo. Dima is a winner of MTV project “Podium”. Dasha Gauser will also hold a lecture on fashion, design, style, and her experience of creating and promoting a fashion brand. Among famous Yakut fashion designers are Zhanna Nesterova, Victoria Vasilieva, D’aria Olesova, and others.
The best works of the participants of Yakutia Fashion Week have a chance to join Art-Design Mart project, created for the young designers in the field of design, fashion and contemporary art. The young talents are offered to open their showrooms that will give them an opportunity to start or expand their business, and sell their products.
