Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia Season Spring-Summer 2016

In autumn Moscow will traditionally host the fashion marathon - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia Season Spring-Summer 2016 will take place from 21 to 25 October. Over 70 designers from Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Turkey, China and other countries will demonstrate their collections at the major venue of Manezh.
Alena Akhmadullina, VIVA VOX, Tony Ward Couture, Yasya Minochkina (the Ukraine), Julia Nikolaeva, Laroom, PIROSMANI BY JENYA MALYGINA, IGOR GULYAEV, MASTERPEACE by Evgenia Linovich, Julia Dalakian, Yez by Yegor Zaitsev, Goga Nikabadze (Georgia), DIMANEU – these and many other successful designers who will be presenting their collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, have been already acknowledged by fashion community both in Russian and abroad. 
One of the key elements of the foreign program will be the premier night of evening gowns by the brand Tarik Ediz (Turkey).
Among the talented new-comers supported by Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia are: TAKO MEKVABIDZE (Georgia),  IVANONA, Eka Balanchivadze (Georgia), ARAIDA and many others. Young designers Vika Smolyanitskaya, Outlaw Moscow and Ksenia Knyazeva who demonstrated their collections in the presentation-format last season, this year will make the début on the runway. Premier collections performed by the designers who are only starting their career will be presented during group shows, competitions and presentations of capsule collections in show rooms.
'I love to be in the centre of big events.  MBFW Russia is that ground where technology and art interact. The most exciting things in fashion will occur this autumn there,' says Jenya Malygina, designer of PIROSMANI BY JENYA MALYGINA brand.
'Most important for me is that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia looks far in the future ex-panding the borders for developing fashion opportunities in our country. It offers not only runway shows but different options for developing brands,' shares Julia Dalakian, designer of Julia Dalakian brand.
'I always enjoy working with the experts of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, because while we are getting ready for the event and especially on the day of the show, our teams become one system and I can feel power in every molecule of air!' - Dima Neu, designer of DIMANEU brand.
'One can say what the person has achieved by looking at: what one wears and what drives. Fol-lowing this logic MBFW Russian is the core of success. Fashion has always been a wonderful communication platform and such events are significant ones. This is what pop culture is about,' says Vika Smolyanitskaya, designer of Vika Smolyanitskaya brand.
Annually Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia brings the shows of foreign designers.
This season Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia will present the show of the leading Chinese designers. Participants of the major Fashion Week in the South-East Asia - Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week will show their premier collections of Spring-Summer Season 2016 on the runway and in show rooms. Presentation of Chinese designers at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Russia will be held as a part of cooperation of the largest fashion weeks in Russia and China. The three-year agreement on strategic partnership between Russian Fashion Council and China Fashion Association was signed in 2014. 
The first event aimed at promoting home fashion on the largest foreign market was participation of Russian manufacturers in Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week and DHUB exhibition in October 2014 in Beijing.
The previous fashion week was held in March 2015. From March 26 to March 31 Moscow hosted Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia with Season Fall-Winter 2015/2016. The largest Fashion Week of Eastern Europe traditionally occupied the central venue Manezh and featured designers from Russia, the Ukraine, Belarus, the USA and other countries. Among Russian designers who presented their collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Russia's major fashion week were: Alena Akhmadullina, IGOR GULYAEV, Dasha Gauser, Julia Dalakian, PIROSMANI BY JENYA MALYGINA, VIVA VOX, Laroom, Julia Nikolaeva, RIA KEBURIA, Yasya Minochkina and many others.

Traditionally the fashion week was opened by SLAVA ZAITSEV. Year after year Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia supports talented young designers giving them opportunity to make a name in the fashion world. This time the largest professional fashion week of Eastern Europe showed the début collections by: Liza Odinokikh, Saint-Tokyo, Maison SAS, Elena Bryntsalova, Luda Nikishina, outlaw moscow. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week also presented collections of the emerging designers who however have already proved they are worthy of public and fashion critics' attention. Among them: Yulia Prokhorova Beloe Zoloto, Osome2some, 075/ohseventyfive, DIMANEU, ZDDZ London, KoJewelry, Bella Potemkina, OFERA by Oksana Fedorova. Besides such young brands as Osome2some, Mineral Weather, Vika Smolyanitskaya, Lovelies by LT also showed their collections. March 26 featured the presentation by ZDDZ London brand and BEssARION show.  

Visitors of the 11th floor loft apartment of Legenda Tsvetnogo complex could experience the Fall-Winter 2015/2016 collection made in line with the brand’s signature vision. This time the designer decided to put urban slogans prints on garments inspired by workwear. BEssARION show was held at the central venue Manezh and attracted not only professional fashion-oriented public from Russia but also foreign guests of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Designer presented his monochrome collection where asymmetrical shapes, spacious basques, men’s jackets and oversized coats were on full display. Official opening ceremony of the 30th Season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia took place on March 27 and was traditionally featured by fashion show performed by the maestro of Russian fashion - Vyacheslav Zaitsev. Designer presented his new collection Nocturne which mixes key traditions of the Fashion House SLAVA ZAITSEV.  On March 28 special guests of MBFW Russia - duo from the USA Musika Frère, presented their new Fall-Winter collection 2015/16. Designers of the brand - Aleks Musika and Davidson Petit-Frére bring a dynamic approach in men's suiting by pairing classic English and Italian tailoring techniques with modern silhouettes and bright colours. In their Fall-Winter collection 2015/16 the designers express the principal idea of the brand - bringing luxury garments to street wear.    

Among the guests of the show were: Jan Karol Madeja, General Director of ZAO Mercedes-Benz RUS, Dree Hemingway, Maria Feodorova (Glamour), Svetlana Bondarchuk (Hello), Yurate Gurauskayte (Instyle), Alena Isaeva (Numero), Alisa Radlova (Cosmopolitan shopping), Maria Lemesheva (Hollywood Reporter), Evgeny Zabolotny (Harper`s Bazaar), Marina Demchenko (Fashion Collection), Alexey Nemov (a four-time Olympic champion in gymnastics), Yana Rudkovskaya, Filipp Kirkorov, Natalya Chistyakova-Ionova, Alexander Rogov, Ksenia Chilingarova, Tatyana Mikhalkova, Konstantin Andrikopulos, Tanya Gevorkyan, Anastasia Stotskaya, Olesya Sudzilovskaya, Victoria Lopyreva, Vlasta Guryeva, Polina Askeri, Nadezhda Missbah, Andrey Grigoryev-Apollonov, Valeria and Ioseph Prigozhin, Alexander Shulgin.   On Saturday at 3 pm the central venue of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia Manezh hosted the streetstyle meet with well-known photographers from the USA and Russia: Adam Katz Sinding, Craig Arend, Diego Zuko, Maxim Gagarin.   Among Russian fashion personalities to attend street style meet were: stylist and TV host Alexandra Feodorova, designer Lisa Odinokhih, jeweller Nadezhda Missbakh, stylist and TV host Alexander Rogov, blogger Sophie Eliseeva and others.    

Cameras of street style photographers also captured the American model, actress and it-girl, great-granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway - Dree Hemingway who specially arrived from USA for one day to attend the shows of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.  

Right after the streetstyle meet the underground floor of Manezh hosted an interesting event - cocktail with the director of the Multimedia Art Museum, Olga Sviblova. Guests of the event had a chance to see the exhibitions Close Up: Fashion Week and chat with Adam Katz Sinding, Craig Arend, Diego Zuko and Maxim Gagarin.  

Close Up: Fashion Week organised in the frames of the IX Moscow International Biennale Fashion and Style in Photography 2015 together with the Multimedia Art Museum and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia featured the best backstage shots made during the brightest fashion event in Russia that traditionally attracted talented Russian and world designers.  

The 30th Anniversary Season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia included the press-briefing devoted to the show from Design Bureau Russian Army with the official Secretary, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Viktor Evtukhov, and President of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia Alexander Shumsky. Viktor Evtukhov mentioned the significance of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia saying that it was very important that the Week brought together such renowned designers as Vyacheslav Zaitsev and Alena Akhmadullina and young designer. For young designers runway shows are extremely important because designers get the chance to present their collections to buyers, fashion experts and representatives of the Russian and world media which all together opens new career opportunities. Deputy Minister talked with the journalists about the new project of Design Bureau Russian Army which presented its collection of civilian clothing in military style on March 31.  

Besides Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia was visited by famous Russian and world fashion illustrators. Their main task was to illustrate the brightest moments of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Jae Suk Kim, Alena Ladovskaya and Sasha Spring spent six days at MBFW main venue - Manezh - and captured the looks from the shows.  

All the shows of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week were broadcast live online on 75 websites including,,,, and many others. On Monday there was an attempt to interrupt live broadcasting of the shows by DDoS attack of the server. A couple of hours before the start of broadcasting work of the player was restored. Despite this little incident, this season the number of views of online broadcasting hit all the records of the previous years, a more detailed statistics will be available later.  

Number of guests who attended the anniversary season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia exceeded 11 thousand people that is 15% more than in the previous season.  

Total number of guests at the shows was also higher, 1500 media representatives were accredited to the shows.
