Sensible Fashion By Natalia Vodianova

An extensive business program of the 31st MBFW Russia season includes lectures, workshops, press conferences and table-talks, which will take place daily on the main venue of the Fashion Week in the Central Exhibition Hall Manege.

On the second day within the framework of MBFW Russia a seminar ‘Specifics of manufacturing collections in Europe’ was held. Filippo Ceroni, representative of Italian company Grazia Bagnaresi, producer of successful brands on the worldwide Italian market, as SI-JAY, MARCOBOLOGNA, MIA HATAMI, came out as a speaker. Filippo announced a contest for Russian designers, the winner of which would manufacture his collection in Italy. ‘It is important for us to discover new names. The designer should be young, gifted and ambitious. I see there are a lot of people with their potential, Russian designers are incredibly talented, and Italian products are in demand and enjoy the confidence of byers. It is necessary to combine them’- claimed the speaker. All terms and conditions of the contest will be announced on the official website MBFW Russia on November 10 and a month later submission of applications will start. The contest results will be announced on January 10, 2016.

The next event to follow was a press conference of the Russian State Social University (RSSU) and the Russian Fashion Council. RSSU Rector Natalia Pochinok and the Russian Fashion Council Executive president Alexander Shumsky signed an agreement on the establishment of the fashion industry Academy, which will train professionals in the field of design and fashion-events organizing. According to Natalia Pochinok, the training will start with short-term courses and work shops held by the leading experts. Creating designers claster and joint double degree programs with Parsons School Design and Italian fashion universities are also considered. Alexander Shumsky noted that the main problem of Russian designers is the non-ability to make a breakthrough and having difficulty entering the international arena, which is connected with the Soviet approach to education. Young designers should be given a few more tools to stand up, and the project will help them to reach the desired result.

Her public talk a buyer of KABUKI Paris boutique and star of the street style blogs, Elina Halimi, began with the words: ‘Let's talk about what you're interested in.’ She is convinced that making your own way and struggling, you should be firmly sure in your genius idea, which she gradually learned by a live example. In addition to this, the center of gravity changes to the side of men's fashion - it grew up, sales are better; at the same time, women are spoiled and make choices slower. At the end of the evening, Natalia Vodianova and ZARINA brand announced the launch of joint charity project Sensible Fashion. The reference point and the main idea is how to deal with people with health disabilities. ‘We have symbolically shown that it's not just about clothes,’ - says ZARINA, assuring that namely mothers should set an example for their children of how to approach and make friends. The brand team is enthusiastic about Sensible Fashion with “it’s both competence and heart” and ready to show fans how talented people with special needs can be – it is only important to use help resource for yourself and others correctly. Replying the question about what makes a woman beautiful Natalia Vodianova said that it is her heart.
