Fashion In Motion
March 8, 2016 15:38

Ksenia found inspiration for her new collection KSENIASERAYA Capsule Collection Dress for Pina in the mix of motional art and the art of the dance.

Before launching her own brand, the graduate of Florentine Institution POLIMODA (course Master in Advanced Fashion Design) Ksenia Seraya, had been working for several years as jersey designer at Ermanno Scervino Fashion House. She devoted her brand to the opportunities of the programmed knitting machines in designing apparel. In Ksenia's opinion, production of new collections for the most part shall constitute in developing new computer software. Computer-assisted knitting machines go beyond standard cuts with scissors, provide opportunities to produce the most complex weaving, seamless pieces, one-piece garments. Details in garments are performed according to the principle of mono-repeat with the assigned pattern.

The inspiration for Ksenia's new collection KSENIASERAYA Capsule Collection Dress for Pina was in the attempt to transfer the motions of Alexander Calder's sculptures, transformation of silhouettes in frames of one shape. Programming of collection's details is similar to the works of Brooklyn-based artist Clement Valla in which he studies the unpredictable and accidental code of the algorithm of computer software. Female character of the collection is the great dancer Pina Bausch, her avant-garde approach to creating ballet performances and her collaboration with designer Yohji Yamamoto in 1998.

The yarn is mercerized cotton, natural lien, viscose (metallic threads). Textures and colours: imitation of denim and its crushing afterwards, beige, grey melange, lemon and bright red.
Key items: jersey pyjamas with imitation of crushed denim, straight dresses with imitation of pleat, loose coats with complex knitted texture of the upper layer.
The show will take place on March 11 at 6pm in the framework of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.
