Spring-Summer Season 2018 By CONTRFASHION
December 6, 2017 23:10

CONTRFASHION is a project providing ambitious emerging designers with an opportunity to run their own fashion shows on one of the main catwalks in Europe. This year the project saw participation of four designers:

Nata Gamurar is an avant-garde performance in line with the brand DNA. The models walked along the runway with canvases in their hands. The pockets of collection's neoprene jackets and combinations feature paint brushes, while the gumshoes were covered in splashes of paint. Main colors were indigo, turquoise, yellow, red.

The ever-present element of Valeria Delski collection is leather. The catwalk showcased slip briefs with high waist, boots with tread bottoms, and nude-color bodies. Silver metallic, lavender and white total look were highlights of the predominantly black collection. Among the accessories were net tights and bridal veiling in the final look. MUAH: aggressive face art, smooth brushed back hairstyle.

Tata-Polina & Dima Kamma collection is all about eccentric headwear in glitter and satin. Regular fit denim trench with patch pockets over chamois leather stockings with garters and a leather bandeau. Net capes were also on display. The collection's signature print is alteration of black and nude stripes. Decorations: rings, leather inlays. Men's look: a pleated-back indigo-colored kimono enhanced by a pork pie hat and flat-foot boots.

CONTRFASHION – is the contradiction fashion. We are looking for unusual proportions and cuts, new materials and unexpected combinations. There are no ideals, standards or samples, designers that we choose for the project create their own style. Every single collection of the artist is his or her laboratory of inner space.

The project is aimed to help young designers to express themselves, showing their edgy collections at the fashion weeks, usually presented in a non-conventional way, with the elements of the show. This is the way to fully discover the artistic potential. Designers get the chance to show their collections purely like a flight of fancy without being bound to the usual concepts about clothing and fashion in general. For them fashion is art, doing unusual, sometimes shocking designs, their collections is self-expression. The project is open to unbelievable experiments, everything new, unusual and eccentric which, of course, will not be appreciated by everyone but will not be left unnoticed for sure.

For already two years the shows are presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia and were acknowledged as one of the most interesting and spectacular projects of the Fashion Week. It should be note that there are no similar projects like CONTRFASHION in the world.
