Spring-Summer Season 2018 By Oksana Fedorova
December 14, 2017 22:10

Oksana Fedorova followed her brand concept and designed a modern classics collection. Loose silhouettes were her choice. Soft deep folds appear within the natural contours featuring the geometry of the floral world, sand dunes, and river waves.

Light trenches, tops, relaxed fit pants, streamy dresses and tunics, oversize shirts and deep cut skirts were presented. Basic fabrics are sole pastel shades: ivory, powdery, lavender, and sky blue. Here and there, these are attenuated with shiny fabrics, geometric and floral prints. Natural textures remind of rough tree bark and silky touch of  flower petals.

The Hunter’s eyes, sharp and piercing. The Hunted rushing headlong. Stealthy tread and rapid chaise. Every step is balanced. Every move is precise. Nerves tensely strung.

This is the essence of the Oksana Fedorova new collection for the season of autumn / winter 2017 / 2018. The collection is about an uncontrollable instinct still alive in everyone. It is about games we face at the megalopolis noisy streets every day. The urbanistic landscape is nothing but a wild savanna, and we are surrounded by the hunters and the hunted in today’s jungle. Some are lucky to have their prey hunted down. Some are lucky to get perfectly camouflaged. Some hunters become preys.

The images of this collection are based on these contrasts. Primeval roles of the hunter and the hunted have a contemporary incarnation reflected against the city skyscrapers. There is a photographer’s lens and a red carpet star. A mighty man and a tender woman. A bright human individuality and a grey cityscape. The designers have managed to squeeze the wild nature into the urbanism frames combining sharp geometric forms with natural patterns. There are dynamic silhouettes from the 80-s and quotations from the Victorian style, from the era of seduction – the weapon of skillful hunters. Spacious oversize things and accents borrowed from the men’s inventory. Soft royal cashmere and sharp texture tweed, silky satin and elastic cotton. Preciously glistering sequins and environment friendly artificial fur.
