Bezgraniz Сouture ('Fashion without Boundaries') - Spring-Summer 2018
January 7, 2018 00:00

The MBFW Russia presented an inclusive fashion show by Yanina Urusova and Tobias Reisner's Bezgraniz Сouture ('Fashion without Boundaries').

The catwalk featured physically challenged models that have active social and creative life. Among them were Miss Wheelchair World 2013 Ksenia Bezuglova and the Russian champion in break dance and the first Russian KIB athletics champion of 2017, Evgeny Smirnov.

The name of the collection is Dress for Success, as it showcases specialized office clothing. The backbone of the collection featured pants with creases, shirts and jackets. All garments are designed taking into account the necessities of the people with disabilities.

The collection was created with the British Higher School of Art & Design.

In 2010, Bezgraniz CoutureTM (Fashion without Borders) was founded by Janina Urussowa and Tobias Reisner. The project promotes the creation of high-end design for the new emerging market: customers with disabilities. Via collaborations with Russian and international designers, the organization of educational programs and new cultural initiatives, the project wants not only to create innovative fashion products, but also to rebrand disability itself: to change the way people with disabilities perceive themselves and are perceived by others. The motto of the project is “Changing the world of fashion – we change the world”. In 2014, Bezgraniz Couture was the first brand in the world to present functional and stylish collections for people with disabilities on a catwalk at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.

SLAVA ZAITSEV, Alena Akhmadullina, VIVA VOX, YASYA MINOCHKINA (the Ukraine), Julia Nikolaeva, Dasha Gauser, Julia Dalakian, PIROSMANI BY JENYA MALYGINA, YULIA PROKHOROVA BELOE ZOLOTO, IGOR GULYAEV, Goga Nikabadze (Georgia), DIMANEU, Saint-Tokyo, Outlaw Moscow, MASTERPEACE – these and many other designers whose names are already familiar to the fashion world present their collections at the runways of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Talented new-comers who are traditionally supported by Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia also demonstrate their works.  ‘Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia is a large professional event that meets all the requirements the fashion week might claim. For me personally the quality and convenient venue of the event are very important, and in this respect MBFW Russia is perfectly organized and well-coordinated! I enjoyed the participation in the Fashion Week and happy to use the opportunity to present my collection at the Russian market. Russian designers are lucky to be part of MBFW Russia and demonstrate their collections at the runway that can be fairly referred to as one of the best in the world’ - Giles Deacon, designer of Giles brand, participants of the 25th Season.

‘Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia is an international project that involves professionals who make up the core of the contemporary fashion industry. MBFW Russia is not simply dealing with organization and arrangement of runway shows, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia and press service of the Fashion Week frequently take part in various fashion projects and shootings. With such partnership you are always in the loop and aware of all the top and must-go events in the fashion world,’ – Yasya Minochkina, designer of YASYA MINOCHKINA brand, participant of the three latest seasons of MBFW Russia.
