The murder of the Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov had no customers. This was reported by a source of “Rosbalt” in law enforcement agencies. Referring to the preliminary conclusions of the investigation, he said that the crime was a personal initiative of the former soldiers of the special battalion of internal troops “Sever” - Zaur Dadaev and Beslan Shavanov.
According to the source, the investigation is still working on the hypothesis of a contract murder, but “it all comes down to the fact that they had planned everything together”. Investigators believe that Dadaev and Shavanov could not find jobs for a long time after they retired from “Sever”, as a result they spent a lot of time together, discussing religious issues. In particular, they discussed the cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad and criticized the French satirical weekly magazine “Charlie Hebdo”.
During their conversations they also discussed the public figures who supported cartoonists, including Nemtsov. “Former fighters of “Sever” decided to punish someone of these figures, pursuing two objectives. To revenge for criticism, as well as to raise their own profile among the residents of the North Caucasus, particularly in Chechnya and Ingushetia” – “Rosbalt” noted. In order to commit a crime, theycalled the relatives and friends of Dadaev living in Moscow – Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, as well as Tamerlan Ekserkhanov and Khamzad Bakhaev.
On the afternoon of March 8 the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested five detainees suspected of the murder of Nemtsov - Zaur Dadaev, Khamzad Bakhaev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, Anzor and Shagid Gubashev. They will remain in custody until April 28. It is noted that Dadaev already made confessionary statements. According to the sources, he was the actual perpetrator of the murder of Nemtsov.
