A Bill Prohibiting the Children Of Officials to Study Abroad Was Introduced to the State Duma
August 12, 2016 17:27

A bill prohibiting the children of officials to study abroad was introduced to the State Duma. This was reported to TASS by the author of the initiative, the President of the Association of Entrepreneurs for Development of Business-Patriotism “Avanti” Rakhman Yansukov.

Any Russian teenager studying abroad may be subject to foreign intelligence services recruitment, Yansukov justifies his initiative. “Seemingly innocent theses such as, for example, the struggle for freedom and democracy in its exaggerated form may cause irreversible consequences for the personal development of any person, especially a child” - the Head of the business association notes.

The draft law implies a ban on studying of minor and adult children of officials at foreign universities. It is proposed to make an exception for six-month international program internships. The author of the initiative hopes that the innovation will help civil servants to re-form an opinion about the quality of modern Russian education. In this case, the knowledge gained by the children of officials at national universities will be the key to their further development and establishment as true patriots, as Yansukov thinks.
