“Vedomosti” newspaper has removed the article about the house of the Head of “Rosneft” Igor Sechin in Barvikha from its web site, for according to the court, it violated his right to privacy. A corresponding message appeared on the page where the material was previously posted.

The court also ordered to destroy the remnants of the circulation of the publication as of July 20, 2016. The article titled “Vedomosti” found the newly built house of Igor Sechin in Barvikha” near the “Barvikha” sanatorium on Rublevskoe highway.

The cost of the site where the house would be built was estimated at $ 60 million by the newspaper. In court the representatives of Sechin insisted that journalists “cynically brought intimate aspects of private life to discussion” for the sake of “idle public interest”.

In turn, “Vedomosti” drew attention to the fact that the information was taken from public sources. The defendant also tried to convince the court that the data published represented public interest.

The representatives of the Head of “Rosneft” were able to convince the Ostankinsky court that the things were the other way out. The decision of the district court as of November 18 was confirmed by the Moscow City Court.
