September 28, 2017 16:24

The State Duma announced a competition to conduct a study of the market of crypto-currencies, blockchain and related risks. The contract amount is almost 2.5 million rubles. This is reported on the site of public procurement.

According to the documents, the winner of the competition will have to explore the foreign experience of introducing and using the new financial technologies. He will also study the possibility of using the ICO technology (Initial coin offering, raising the funds for digital money emission projects) as an alternative way to attract the investment.

The winner should indicate the main risks of new technologies and suggest the ways of counteracting them. The results of the study will be used to create the legislative initiatives, according to the materials on the website of public procurement.

On September 21, the Coindesk website reported that the US Senate had adopted the country's military budget, which prescribed a requirement for the Pentagon to study the technology of blockchain.
