The Budget Deficit of the Pension Fund of Russia (PFR) will be Revised
May 7, 2018 11:10

This year the budget deficit of the Pension Fund of Russia (PFR) will be revised from 106.6 billion roubles, which is stipulated by the current law on the budget of the Pension Fund, up to 256.8 billion roubles. RBC reported about it on Wednesday, April 25, with a reference to the amendments to the budget prepared by the Ministry of Labor.

The revenues of the PFR will decrease by 66.7 billion roubles, while expenditures will grow by 83.5 billion, as the agency noted. The growth of the deficit is associated with a decrease in the transfer of funds from the federal budget and an increase in the expenditures on payment of insurance pensions, as the fund explained.

According to the amendments made to the budget of the PFR, the expenditures on pensions and social benefits will increase by 171.4 billion. The volume of the transfer from the federal budget will decrease by 68.3 billion.

The coverage of the deficit in the distributive part of the fund’s budget, where old-age pensions are financed by insurance premiums of working citizens, will amount to 150.3 billion roubles. This amount will be provided by the money of the fund’s budget to be transferred.
