The Richest Russian Wives

 How much money the wives of the members of the government of Dmitry Medvedev and the administrative staff of Vladimir Putin earned in 2017.

According to the results of 2017, the wife of the State Duma Deputy Aleksandr Nekrasov, Elena Nekrasova, became the richest wife. She has become the leader of this ranking for the second year in a row; her income for 2016 exceeded 2 billion roubles.

Elena Nekrasova managed to earn 78 times more money than her husband. She owns several companies included into the “Leader Group” construction holding. 

Lyudmila Vorobyova, the spouse of Yurii Vorobyov, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council and the associate of Sergei Shoigu, was replaced by the wife of the Deputy Dmitrii Sablin – Alla Sablina. She climbed from the eighth position to the second one, having earned almost six times more money than during the previous year. She owns six apartments with a total area of 512.6 sq. m. Lyudmila Vorobyova dropped to 12th position, her income decreased almost three times and made up 91 million roubles.

The third position belongs to a newcomer in the ranking - the spouse of a member of the State Duma Committee Aleksei Krasnoshtanov. She earned 668.8 million roubles more during the year (in 2016 she declared income in the amount of 1.6 million roubles, and in 2017 her income amounted to 670.4 million roubles).

For the first time, the ranking listed the wives of the State Duma Deputies Rakhim Azimov and Aleksei Weller. The income of the wife of and Weller increased tenfold during the year: in 2016 she earned about 250,000 roubles, in 2017 her income already amounted to 52.1 million roubles. The income of the wife of Azimov grew more than seven times during this period: she declared 66 million roubles.

The spouse of Vladimir Bochkov (in 2017 her income fell almost four times), the spouses of Yurii Volkov (her income dropped almost six times) and Anton Zharkov (her earnings decreased almost three times) were excluded from the list. The current list includes some wives who have been included in the ranking year after year. For example, the wife of the State Duma Deputy Andrei Chernyshev already was on the list in 2017, occupying the ninth line, but this year she has dropped by four positions: in 2016 she earned 123.5 million roubles, whereas in 2017 her income amounted to 77.9 million roubles.

The total income of the women included in the list made up almost 6 billion roubles. The overwhelming majority of the women in the ranking are the wives of the State Duma Deputies representing the “United Russia” party.

The ranking also includes the spouses of ministers and only one wife of an employee of the Presidential Administration, Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov – his wife is the figure skater Tatiana Navka; she has earned almost 14 times more than Peskov during the year.
