At a meeting in the case of the Seventh Studio in the Meshchansky Court of Moscow, the prosecutor requested six years in a general regime colony and a fine of 800,000 rubles for the director Kirill Serebrennikov, RIA Novosti reports. The representative of the state prosecution Mikhail Reznichenko also requested real terms for three more defendants. For former Seventh Studio general producer Alexei Malobrodsky - imprisonment for five years with a fine of 300,000 rubles, for the former employee of the Ministry of Culture, Sofia Apfelbaum - four years in prison with a fine of 200,000 rubles. He also requested four years in prison for producer Yuri Itin.
Speaking in the debate, the prosecutor stated that the guilt of the defendants was fully proved by the materials of the criminal case: in particular, fictitious agreements with cash-in offices and the third examination of the case, which established damage of 128.9 million rubles.
The case of the Seventh Studio was opened in 2018. Defendants are accused of embezzlement of budget funds allocated for the theater project "Platform". Only the former chief accountant of the studio Nina Maslyaeva pleaded guilty. According to the investigation, Serebrennikov organized the thefts together with Malobrodsky, Itin and Apfelbaum. They do not plead guilty.
Three examinations were conducted in the case. The first examination estimated the damage at 133 million rubles, the second found that the defendants, on the contrary, saved the money of the Ministry of Culture. The third examination, the findings of which were announced on June 1, estimated the damage at almost 129 million.
