Running club was opened in Gorky Park; anyone can come to classes to master running technique and meet the likeminded. The club is headed by Alexandra Boyarskaya Weit – famous journalist and one of apologists of the running movement in Moscow.
The center of running club is Sport pavilion on Pushkin embankment. Here everyone can receive the consultation, also enjoy dressing room and showers.
There are several routes in the Park for different levels of training. Drinking fountains are installed along each route. To become a member of the club one just needs the desire and willingness to work hard. Trainings are held in Gorky Park on weekdays at 19:30 (except Monday) and at 12:00 at the weekend. Sport pavilion is marked on the site of Gorkiy Park as a gathering place.
Outdoor showers will appear in Sport pavilion during the summer. The class continues on average of about one and a half hours. There are distances for races – from 3 to 10 kilometers. Of course, 10 kilometers is for experienced distance runners.
Routes are marked with signposts, and maps are hanging in the Pavilion - if you get lost you can continue you training and join the rest with your own speed.
Each training session is devoted to a single topic. Sometimes it is weight training - the relay, sometimes yoga, stretching and fartlek.
