Team "Sochi 2014" summed up the Olympic Games' results. IOC President Thomas Bach called the Olympic Games in Sochi “excellent” in terms of their organization and noted the well-coordinated work of all participants.

The team "Sochi 2014", which includes about 60 thousand employees and volunteers, have successfully completed the first in the history of Russia "white" Olympics. Organizers sold more than a million tickets and Games were visited by fans from 126 countries. More than 2,800 athletes from 88 countries arrived to Sochi to play off a record 98 sets of medals.

464 channels worldwide covered the Games in Sochi. Olympics have become successful in social networks as well. Number of #Sochi2014 hashtag references exceeded two times the Earth population. The total volume of the Olympic Internet traffic amounted to more than 1 Petabyte.

The main results of the Olympic Games were indisputable victory of the Russian team and unforgettable atmosphere of international jubilation on the Olympic grandstands. Sochi Olympics set a new record for the number of countries whose representatives won gold medals: athletes from 21 states took the highest purity awards away to their homes.

The cultural program, which graced the leisure of participants and guests of the Games, involved 5,000 artists from 70 regions of Russia. The Olympics left a rich tangible and intangible heritage. The most compact sports cluster in Olympic history was built in Sochi. Coastal ice arenas are within walking distance from each other, but the new railway allows getting up in the mountains in less than an hour.

Through the Sochi Olympics the southern part of Russia has got 4 modern ski resort; a modern high-capacity hotel complex with tens of thousands of hotel rooms; more than 360 km of roads and 200 km of railway tracks; 690 km of public utility networks; modern hotels and landscaped sea line. Capacity of the Sochi power grid increased almost 3 times up to 1 MW.

Thanks to the Sochi Olympics, for the first time Russian athletes have got training facilities for all winter sports. Sports facilities built in Sochi have formed an international center that has everything someone may need, starting with training premises and ending with hotels and healthcare facilities. From the summer resort, popular among Russians, the city turned into a year-round business and tourist center of world level. Sochi has already won the right to host a number of major sports tournaments such as 2018 FIFA World Cup and bobsleigh and skeleton World Championship in 2017.
