"In 2021, the Champions League final will be held at the St. Petersburg arena, Russia," the report said.
The decision was made at a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in Ljubljana.
The decisive match of the main club tournament in Europe will be held on the field of the stadium "Gazprom Arena", accommodating 68 thousand spectators.
In turn, the tournament final in 2022 will be hosted by the Alliance Arena stadium in Munich with a capacity of 75 thousand spectators. The venue for the Champions League final in 2023 was Wembley Stadium in London (capacity - 90 thousand people).
All these three arenas will be involved in the matches of the European Championship 2020, which will be held for the first time in history in several countries of the continent. In 2020, the stadium in St. Petersburg will host three matches of the group stage of the European Championship and one quarterfinal.
