Street Or Ulicza?
New street signs that appeared on buildings in the centre of Moscow caused bewilderment of the city residents. Strange transliteration (writing names in Latin characters) stroke the eye. A lot of photos with the central streets of Moscow and funny translations of the city signs were added to the albums in social networks.
Improving The Capacity Of Moscow Streets
The Department for Competition Policy of Moscow selected the companies that should focus on improving the capacity of the streets in five administrative districts. The total amount of contracts makes up more than 870 million roubles: the money will be spent on arrangement of parking draw-ins, reconstruction of sidewalks, creating booster strips. All works must be finished before the end of 2014.

New Names Of Moscow Streets
Sergei Sobyanin assigned new names to four city streets and a square.

Another eight buildings in the centre of Moscow have been included into the register of monuments of history and architecture. The assignment of such status to the building protects them from any rearrangements and distortions.

The Mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin supported the proposal of giving the name of Yuri Lyubimov to one of the streets in Moscow.
Golden Ring Of Moscow
The city authorities plan to landscape the city's central streets within the concept of the development of "Golden Ring of Moscow" tourist and recreational zone. Landscaping and installing information boards and signs for tourists is planned in Vetoshny, Khrustalny, Faleevsky, Chernigovsky, Lavrushinsky, 1st and 2nd Khadashevsky lanes

About a score of drives were renamed in Moscow. Now they have names associated with the history of this place, or the names of famous people.
