Eat-And-Work Cafes in St. Petersburg
August 17, 2012 11:36

“My colleagues and I are only beginning a start-up now, so it’s inconvenient to rent a large office. It needs bigger financial investments than we can presently afford. Such cafes are the best option for our business meetings.”
“I’m a freelancer, but frankly speaking, I cannot concentrate at home. I need some special place to delve deep into my work. I find it here.”
“I’m writing a book on the restaurant business. I have a great experience in this area and cannot create anywhere else but in the atmosphere of the cafes or restaurants.”
These are some example of what people say about the new trend – cafes, which main goal is not just to serve you delicious meals, but to create a special atmosphere that inspires you and provides comfortable working environment.

Griboedov Club

“Griboedov” has several zones: an underground club with a bar and the “Griboedov Hill” musical café, where exhibitions, concerts, sports broadcasts, lectures, workshops and various musical events are organized.
Besides, there are two summer terraces decorated with vines, and a roof balcony equipped with comfortable sofas and armchairs where everyone may have a rest and enjoy the views.
“Amsterdam-bar” is for those who want to communicate in a calm atmosphere or to play snooker.
“Griboedov” provides you with free Wi-Fi, a projector, lighting and musical equipment, board games... and for love-birds there is even a romantic fireplace.

 22.13 Restaurant

This restaurant is very well planned. The place of your seating here depends on what you are going to do. Guest hall is rather spacious and is dedicated to presentations and briefings. Large bright rooms on the first and second floors are for those who’d like to read or use laptops. An attractive terrace is open in summer and is equipped with Wi-Fi and sockets.
The whole atmosphere is very special and inspires creation. 22.13 is decorated with French engravings of the XVIII century and some treasures found at the European flea markets. By the way, it’s also possible to buy some designer knick-knacks from New-York, Paris and Tokyo here.

Third Place Café And Co-working

Actually, the title hits the mark. “Third Place” is perfect for working, communicating and meeting both with friends and colleagues. The first room is suitable for the negotiations; the second is a co-working area for about twelve people (one hour in co-working area costs 99 rubles). Lectures, tastings, themed nights and exhibitions are held here on a weekly basis. For those who want to play or read, “Third Place” offers a wide range of games and books. No one will ever get bored.

“Nevsky 8” Art Centre

“Nevsky 8” impressively manages to combine several areas aiming to give space for meetings, presentations, exhibitions (free of charge) and shopping for people interested in arts. Here is an art gallery, a décor shop, and a café. They call it the “pulse of cultural life”. Technically equipped exhibition space offers the opportunity to demonstrate a variety of art forms. “Nevsky 8” Art Centre is famous for its “Artist’s store” with a great range of specialist products, e.g. brushes, paints, pencils, canvas, paper, cardboard, and easels. You may even take part in painting lessons that cost 900 rubles per hour at the weekend and 700 rubles per hour on weekdays. Actually, it’s worth trying.
