Ice skating rinks in Moscow parks

We will tell you how, where and at what price you can skate in Moscow parks, and what else to do there.

The National Skating Rink

Skating rink at the Exhibition of Economic Achievements of National Economy is known as  the National Skating Rink of the country. It won this proud title back in 2014.   In addition to the huge size (the ice area is more than 20 thousand square meters, the capacity is almost 5 thousand people), the skating rink pleases its guests with bright shows, concerts and competitions. 
Opening hours: on weekends and holidays from 10:00 to 23:00, on weekdays from 11:00 to 23:00, technical break from 15:00 to 17:00, on Monday the skating rink does not work. Cost: from 150 to 600 rubles.

Sokolniki skating rink

Every year, Sokolniki Park surprises its guests with something new. Guests   learn different dance moves, listen to musical selections and enjoy the glow of the northern lights. Opening hours:  10:00-12: 00, 13:00-15:00, 16:00-18:00, 19:00-21: 00, 22:00-00: 00sessions. 
Cost:  from 300 to 400 rubles.

Gorky Park skating rink

This winter, the center of ice entertainment in Gorky Park will be a stereo trek. With the help of optical illusions and light effects, artists create a different reality. The central installation of the skating rink will be made in the form of a ten-meter light cube with luminous edges. 
Opening hours: all days except Monday. Sessions: daily from 10:00 to 15:00, evening from 17:00 to 23:00. From Friday to Sunday and on public holidays, an evening session is until 24:00. Cost: from 300 to 600 rubles for adults, children's ticket from 150 rubles.

GUM Skating Rink

The skating rink on Red Square is 3000 m2. The capacity of the skating rink is 450 people per session. It is open from 10.00 to 23.30 daily.  The GUM-Skating Rink 2018-2019 will be opened on November 29, 2018 with a large-scale holiday. The skating rink on Red Square will be decorated in the style of Soviet and Russian cartoons. Visitors will see a trio from Prostokvashino, the heroes of the cartoon about Cheburashka,   and other famous characters.
Sessions: 10.00 - 11.00, 11.30 - 12.30, 13.00 - 14.00, 14.30 - 15.30, 16.00 - 17.00, 17.30 - 18.30, 19.00 - 20.00, 20.30 - 21.30, 22.00 - 23.30.
Prices 2018 - 2019.
Admission for adults:
weekdays sessions (sessions from 10:00 to 14:00) - free of charge;
weekdays sessions (sessions from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm) - 400 rubles per session;
weekends and holidays (sessions from 10:00 to 12:00) - 400 rubles per session;
weekends and holidays (sessions from 14:00 to 22.00) - 500 rubles per session.
Entrance fee for children (from 7 to 12 years old):
weekdays (sessions from 10:00 to 14:00) - free of charge;
weekdays (sessions from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm) - 200 rubles per session;
weekends and holidays (sessions from 10:00 to 12:00) - 200 rubles per session;
weekends and holidays (sessions from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm) - 300 rubles per session.
Entrance fee for children (up to 7 years):
weekdays sessions (sessions from 10:00 to 22:00) - free of charge;
weekends and holidays (sessions from 10:00 to 22:00) - free of charge.
Children (from 7 to 12 years) + 1 adult without the right to go on the ice:
weekdays (sessions from 10:00 to 14:00) - free of charge;
weekdays (sessions from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm) - 200 rubles per session;
weekends and holidays (sessions from 10:00 to 12:00) - 200 rubles per session;
weekends and holidays (sessions from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm) - 300 rubles per session.
Ice skating for retirees:
weekdays (sessions from 10:00 to 14:00) - free of charge;
weekdays (sessions from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm) - 200 rubles per session;
weekends and holidays (sessions from 10:00 to 22:00) - 200 rubles per session.
Ice skating for veterans and disabled persons:
weekdays (sessions from 10:00 to 22:00) - free of charge;
Weekends and holidays (sessions from 10:00 to 22:00) - free of charge.
Skate rental:
for adults - 300 rubles per session;
for children (from 7 to 12 years old) and pensioners - 150 rubles;
for children (up to 7 years old) - free of charge;
security deposit - 2000 rubles or: passport, driver's license, pension certificate, or military ID.
There are warm locker rooms and cafes where you can warm up and have a quick snack.

Bauman garden  skating rink

The skating rink in the Bauman garden looks really magical. The skating rink is specially popular at the weekend, when parties and discos are held. The ice rink itself is not too big (up to 300 people can skate at the same time), so it is really good for beginners.
Opening hours: from 10:00 to 22:00 daily. Cost: 200 rubles on weekdays, 300 rubles on weekends and holidays.

Hermitage garden skating rink

Thanks to the fabulous design, the local skating rink stuck to the title of the most romantic in the city. As many as 2 ice arenas work here - with natural and artificial ice. The area of the rink with a natural coating is 4000 square meters, with artificial surface 900 square meters. At both sites you can have a snack and warm up with tea in tents. Besides, there are several cafes.
Opening hours: Mon 14:00-23:00, Tue-Fri 12:00-23:00, Sat, Sun and holidays 10:00-23:00. Entrance cost: from 250 to 350 rubles, free admission for children under 6 years old and discounts for privileged categories of citizens.

The Silver Ice skating rink in Izmailovsky Park
This is a huge platform with artificial and natural ice and all amenities for visitors. Nearby are heated locker rooms, luggage storage rooms, parking, cafes RussRoll and Cool. In Izmailovsky Park there is also a free of charge figure skating school.
Hours: Mon-Fri 12:00-22:00, Sat-Sun and on holidays 11:00-22:00. Cost:  250-350 rubles.

Krasnaya Presnya Park skating rink

There are  two skating rinks in the Krasnaya Presnya Park: one with artificial ice, the second with natural ice. As in other Moscow parks, here you can rent skates, sharpen them, use the storage cell. On weekends and holidays, skating rinks are planning to hold discos and theatrical performances.
Cost: from 150 to 300 rubles; for children up to 6 years old, orphans, disabled people and veterans - for free.

Babushkinsky Park Skating rink "Metelitsa"

This outdoor skating rink  is a favorite resting place of the guests of Babushkinsky Park. And it is not surprising: here you can see beautiful performances, and even participate in them. In addition to skates at the rental center, they offer funny trainers in the form of penguins and bears - they help children  to stand on the ice.
Cost: from 250 to 300 rubles, for schoolchildren and students - 150 rubles (on weekdays, not on holidays).

Chistiye Prudy skating rink

This is a free of charge ice rink with natural ice, so the quality of the coating depends entirely on weather conditions. You can come here at any time.  Opening hours: around the clock. Cost: free.

Patriarch's Ponds skating rink

It is located in the historical beautiful place. For children there is a special fenced off area. In the evening lights are turned on. Grab a snack at cafes and restaurants located around the pond. The skating rink with a natural surface starts working only during cold weather; the attendance is free of charge.
Opening hours: Tuesday - Friday from 16:00 to 22:00, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 12:00 to 22:00. On Monday, the rink is closed.
