This winter you will find hundreds of open-air skating  rinks with natural and artificial ice, which will delight visitors with their spectacular design. Luckily, there are several skating rinks in Moscow where skating is absolutely free of charge.  Find them in our article.

Giant and Fairy Tale Skating Rinks in Sokolniki

The area of ice cover in Sokolniki  is about 20 000 sq.m. Skating rink "Giant" goes through   picturesque forest paths in the depths of the park.
Open hours:  from 9:00 to 24:00 (with night technical interruptions for pouring).
Rental: from 10.00 to 22.00.

Ostankino Park

Free skating rink is waiting for visitors in the "Ostankino" park. The size  is not really large - 1800 sq. m. In the evening, the territory of the rink is illuminated.
The skating rink is open from 11:00 to 21:00, weekends - from 10:00 to 22:00.

Fili Park

You will not have to pay for entry at the skating rink in the Fili park. Its area is 800 square meters. In the evening, the ice rink is illuminated. There is a rental point and   a school of figure skating for adults and children.
Open hours: daily from 10:00 to 21:00.

Patriarch Ponds

The skating rink on the Patriarch Ponds in the historical center of Moscow is really popular.  It occupies about 12 thousand square meters.   At night, the ice rink is illuminated by floodlights.

Chistye Prudy

The ice rink is flooded spontaneously, so the ice is not always perfect. The advantages of the rink include its round-the-clock open hours, the presence of benches in the alleys where you can rest, and a small number of visitors. Not far from the rink there are many  cafes and restaurants.

Goncharovsky park

The area of the free skating rink in Goncharovsky Park is 700 square meters.   Artificial ice cover does not depend on weather conditions.
Opening hours: daily from 10:00 to 22:00.

Olympic skating rink

Another free rink with artificial ice is located next to the Olimpiysky sports complex. Its area is 1,250 square meters. The rink is equipped with a warm dressing room, a wardrobe, a cafe with snacks and drinks, and toilets. There are rental points there.
Opening hours: weekdays - from 16:00 to 22:00, Saturday, Sunday - from 11:00 to 22:00.
