An unusual walking route located at the height of tree crowns was launched in the VDNKh Landscape Park on September 5.

The ecotrail opened as a part of the anniversary season; the trail enables you to walk along the old Sheremetyevo oak grove and look at the nature of the Exhibition of Economic Achievements from a new unusual angle.

The access is open round-the-clock, the admission is free.

The ecotrail is located in the area of the “Priroda Dikaya” (“Wild Nature”) Landscape Park. High-altitude bridges raise visitors to the level of tree crowns and lead them through the foliage of trees, making it possible for them to see all the beauty of the protected Sheremetyevo oak grove without harming it. The main species growing here is English oak, the average age of trees exceeds 150 years, but the trees older than 200 years are alsofound quite often.

The structures of the ecotrail are the twisted metal supports and spans with fences that are bent along the trajectory of movement. 90% of the materials used during the trail manufacture are domestic. The height of the structure reaches 6.5 meters; its total length makes up about 500 meters.

You can take a walk along the ecotrail at any season of the year. In evenings the entire length of the route isilluminated. The work on the trail construction took about eight months, at this, the green spaces and terrain features have been preserved.

There are no analogues of the air ecotrail at VDNKh anywhere in Moscow. Around the world, such constructions can be found in the Adirondack national park in the USA, the Bavarian Forest in Germany and near the Lipnensky water reservoir in the Czech Republic.

The landscaped territory of the Sheremetyevo oak grove creates all the conditions for exploration of wild nature and a new look at the area of the historical forest park.

The first stage of the Landscape Park invented by the world famous French architect Michel Pen was opened last summer. The unique ecocomplex combines natural areas and innovative developments in the field of landscaping and landscape architecture. It includes 5 natural zones; the total area of the park is 87.3 hectares.
