Alexander Park (Russian: Aleksandrovsky Park)
One more park of the central city district of St. Petersburg was named after Emperor Alexander I, although, according to historical chronicles, the emperor himself only had enough time to plan the placement of green spaces on this territory. The emperor’s plans were implemented by his successor Nicholas I.
According to another version, the park was named in honor of Alexander Nevsky - a prince and a legendary commander, a saint of the Russian Orthodox Church.
