A user of the Chinese platform Sohu shared his opinion about Russian cuisine and the most popular dishes, which taste  is “impossible to forget”.

“Most of the country's inhabitants live in eastern Europe. Therefore, the food culture in Russia is greatly influenced by European culture,” the blogger says.

In his opinion, Russian cuisine has a number of features. Thus, he noted   a large amount of oil in food due to the cold climate, the pronounced taste of dishes, rich soups, the popularity of garlic and onions. The blogger paid special attention to cold snacks, which have a sour and salty taste, such as pickled cucumbers, dried fish, etc.

The author named caviar as the main delicacy of Russia: red - salmon, and black - sturgeon. “The most valuable is black caviar (albino sturgeons). The larger and lighter the  caviar is, the higher it is valued,” he stressed.

The blogger remembered  smoked sausages, which have a soft texture and a pleasant aroma. “White blotches in sausage are not rice grains, but pieces of fat,” he warns.

The Russian jelly reminded the author of pork jelly, which is popular in northeast China.

The blogger also noted the rich taste of goulash. According to him, this dish goes well with wine and reflects the "straightforwardness" of the Russian people. “The main ingredients are beef brisket, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots and onions, seasoned with tomato sauce, onions and garlic,” he shares.

The author called Moscow borsch a legend of Russian cuisine. He recalled that this soup comes from Ukraine, and highlighted a slightly spicy, sweet and sour taste. In Chinese, borsch is called a Russian soup.

In addition, the author noted Russian dumplings that “originated from China”, lard borrowed from Eastern European peoples, as well as a rich selection of black and white bread with various fillings.

On June 6, Chinese media wrote about the love of the people of China for Russian sausage. According to them, in China, there are many different sausages, but in Russia they contain more meat, they are fatter, and their taste is more vivid. Chinese sausage is usually made of lean meat, and it contains too much starch. In addition, its cost is many times higher than in Russia.
