Daily rent of apartments in Moscow
June 16, 2010 15:40

Earlier we wrote about renting flats in Russia with all advantages and disadvantages of renting an apartment in spite of booking a hotel (Tips for renting a flat in Russia). Now we present you some details of daily rent of apartments in Moscow, which is something between booking a hotel and long-term renting. Such service as daily rent of apartments exists in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and other cities, and the fact that tourists and business travellers choose it indicates its advantages over hotels and hostels. As for Moscow, the main advantage is obvious variation in prices. As soon as daily rent is a special service, I describe its special features in terms of Moscow.

First of all, the daily rent of a flat supposes traditional package of hotel services, like change of linen and cleaning. Sometimes even other services. In spite of the hotels, you can cook in the flat, invite the guests, leave and come at any time of day. Flats for daily rent in Moscow are provided by companies and individual persons as well, and the first opportunity is more preferable, especially for the foreigners, nevermind that privates' services are cheaper. Unreasonably high price can be tied with close vicinity to the metro stations: taking into account Moscow traffic jams, it is very estimated.

Secondly, the terms of your residence in Moscow. If you come for 1 or 2 days, the companies can refuse to work with you. Maybe, hotel is a better decision for such terms. If you are going to spend in Moscow more than 1-2 days, daily renting is for you. Let me to advice you to choose and book an apartment in advance, because the best proposals can not be vacant for a long time. In this case however you will have to pay for the first night. It would be something like confirmation of your dependability and compensation for the company if you refuse in the last moment. After you booked an apartment and have come to Moscow you can go to the company's office to get your keys or directly to the flat, where the manager will wait for you. By the way, it would be appropriate to book a transfer and not to look for the flat yourself. After you come to the flat you pay for the flat, insurance and get your keys. Don't hesistate to ask the manager to demonstrate you documents, confirming that the apartment's owner has signed an agreement for such exploitation of the flat. If the flat is in a shared use, all the owners should be agree for that.

Thirdly, there are some factors, embarassing using this service. The companies, and the privates as well refuse the following people: teenagers, whose iresponsibleness leads to unexpected effects, guest workers (they manage to live more than 12 persons in 1 room), party fans, who rent a flat to selebrate a birthday, New year or something like this, because the neigbours have their right to spend an evening in peace, and people with pets. Yes, unfortunately, travelling and accommodation with pets in Russia and in Moscow as well is still very difficult. More about it in our article Experiment: Accommodation with Mini-Pig in Moscow
