Kamchatka belongs to travel destinations which don't need any special introduction. Volcanoes, geysers, thermal springs and marvelous wildlife - all of it attracts travelers from Russia and abroad. But there is lack of information about this region: we know more about missing tourists, mainly independent travelers, who neglected professional tour services which however exist. Thermal springs and active volcanoes make seasons on Kamchatka something relative, but there are some special winter things to do there.
Most part of Kamchatka is a wilderness area. Not only because taking care of nature, but because its particular qualities. For instance, Valley of Death and unpredictable character of this land in the whole ensure its undisturbed ecosystems.

Kamchatka SPA and relaxing is sousing into soft snow after a hot bath of thermal spring, it is meditation on the moon, which is somehow very big and on the beautiful mountainous landscape. It was noticed, that waters of thermal Kamchatka springs help in losing weight. Therapeutic muds treat skin from the consequences of megalopolis stress and bad ecology. And of course, you will be offered light outdoor activities, like excursion to the Valley of Geysers (yes, if you was on Kamchatka and did not visit it - you are to come back and to see it), snowmobile safari, ice-fishing which is not only active, but very meditative thing as well. During snowmobile trip you will see wild animals like deers, hares, foxes, grouses and swans wintering here.
Kamchatka cookery, local cuisine dishes with many fresh sea fruits like crabs, red caviar and Pacific white fish is a part of program as well.
Mountain skiing
Kamchatka mountain skiing distinguishes with two things: first, the pistes are situated on the slopes of volcanoes. And season for this is very long: till the middle of June. You are transported on the top with snowmobile or helicopter. Tours include visiting a few different ski centers. Skiing and snowboarding is combined with bathing in thermal springs. You can book guided excursions as well.
Heli ski
Helicopters on Kamchatka have a special status. In most cases it is the only one way to get from the cities to the distant settlements: fire-breathing peninsula is not large, but mainly unnegotiable by usual mains of transport and sometimes on foot as well. So, five black volcanoes covered with with all known types of white snow from firn to powder snow are waiting for you. Every day of the tour is marked with a new volcano. After skiing the tourists are offered thermal springs: good thing to relax you muscles and good health maintenance.
All in all, if some kinds of winter activities aren't still represented on Kamchatka, it is a matter of time. Travel industry is developing there, and hopefully, the wild and really dangerous wildlife of peninsula won't let it to spoil unique place in the world, but to help the people to see such wonder and to touch it. Winter is a season when contrasts of Kamchatka - ice and fire look most effective and when more places are available without helicopters due to dog sleds and snowmobiles.
