The Red October Confectionery Factory

If you need some fresh feelings and you're hunger for strong impressions, don't miss the opportunity to visit at least one of the following museums:

Vodka History Museum

Here you have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with centuries-long history of Russian vodka, from its invention to the present day. In the museum exposition you can see the first distillation unit, by means of which burning wine was produced in the XVth century. You will learn the secrets of vodka production process as well as the main ingredients of the Russian national drink, 600 sorts of this drink, old recipes,different types of its labels, bottle sizes, and posters.

During your visit to the museum you will hear a captivating story of the role vodka has played in the history of Russian civilization, how it could have influenced the course of important historical events in Russian history. Vodka played a vital part in realization of Tsar Peter's reforms. Yet vodka served as reason for Russia's defeats in several major battles.

Museum of Erotic Art

Museums of sex and erotic art are widely spread all over Europe, in Moscow such museum has appeared only this year.

Museum "G-Point" consists of three big sections :

  1. Museum of Erotic Art. More than 300 exhibits are displayed here,not only foreign ones,but also national peculiar objects.
  2. Hypermarket for adults. It has a big variety of erotic goods and souvenirs.
  3. Erotic Cafe, where you can enjoy a provoking atmosphere and delightful dishes.

Despite its brief history, the museum has already been a place for stylish Moscow parties with burlesque and striptease elements.

Museum of Red October Chocolate Factory

Russian chocolate is known all over the world, Russian chocolate-coated sweets "Mishka Kosolapy", "Krasnaya Shapochka", "Triufeli" are famous for their high quality and unforgettable taste. If you need to sweeten your life, chocolate is the best way to it.

 Red October Chocolate Factory (rus. Krasniy Oktyabr) — named Red October in honor of the 1917 revolution — is situated on the island in the Moscow River, across from the Kremlin’s walls and gold-domed churches. It has a long history and it won its way of the most famous Russian confectioner's factory.

The exhibition presents various historical documents,commercial and package patterns, numerous prizes and awards. In the museum visitors will get acquianted with technological and production processes in chocolate and candy workshops.The excursion finishes with tea drinking and pastry tasting. This is accompanied with the "Chocolate Symphony", a collection of classic music dedicated to sweets.

Museum "Clandestine Print Shop"

Situated in the old district of Moscow, the museum is a real historical treasure.The three-floored building is a typical example of Moscow apartment house.

One excursion carries you back to 1910s, when Bolsheviks were creating their illegal print shop, working under the cover of a fruit store. Another excursion, "Secret Store", is devoted to the work of clandestine print shop and strives for its historical reconstruction, which adds a little bit of theatricality. So, if you're an adventure lover, give it a shot!

Lesnaya Street, 55. The museum is opened: Tu.-Sa. 9.30-17.30; Sun. 9.30-16.30, except the last Friday of each month.

Moscow Metro Museum

Moscow Metro is an individual place of interest of the city, a special must-see of every tourist. The past and the present of Moscow metro can be learned in the Museum of Moscow Metro. Unremarkable door in the south hall of the station "Sportivnaya"  hides heroic times of the capital's metro.The main exbition is located on the third floor, the photogallery is on the second one.

Here you will find wooden turnstiles, exchange automatic machines, and will be able to get into the booth of locomotive driver. Visitors will get to know the process of metro building, which metro station considered to be the most luxurious one, the way the escalators work, and many other curious things.

Khamovnichesky Val Street, 36, the south hall of the station "Sportivnaya". The museum is opened: Mon. 10.00-16.30; Tu.-Th. 9.00-16.30; Fr. 9.00-15.00.
