Moskomturizm organized a tour of the Ostankino TV Tower for tour operators and journalists before Christmas. On the eve of the New Year holidays the Moscow Committee on Tourism and Hotel Business presented the offers of Ostankino TV tower to tour operator companies and the mass media.
The participants of the meeting were delivered a lecture-presentation on the Ostankino Television Tower, its tourism complex tour, services and prospects of cooperation with the tourism industry.
As for today the Ostankino Tower is the tallest building in Europe and the largest communications enterprise. The Moscow TV Tower is becoming a more modern cultural tour complex offering its Russian and foreign visitors to go to the view point at a height of 337 meters providing a most impressive view of the city. The outdoor view point at a height of 340 meters is open on the Tower in the summer.
The guests of the TV Tower have been offered a special program “Shine, Megalopolis” each evening from 9 to 10 p.m. for the second consecutive year. This time of the day is convenient for carrying out a variety of events, contests, games, workshops and many other activities.
A special guided tour was developed for secondary school students - an entertaining quest titled “337 answers”. A new tour is to be launched soon, it will make it possible for the visitors to see not only the TV Tower view point, but also the mark of 85 meters providing a view to famous wire-rope fittings - 149 steel wire ropes supporting the tower for almost 50 years.
It is also planned to open a view point at a height of 147 meters, where you can admire the views of Moscow in any weather conditions. The reconstruction of the legendary high-altitude restaurant “Seventh Heaven” (327-335 meters) will be completed in the next year. In 2014 the programs and activities of the Contemporary Cultural Tour Ostankino Tower Complex will focus on two major events - the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi and the 25th anniversary of the World Federation of High Rise Towers.
