The project for the development of industrial tourism will be a part of an overall program of transforming Tver Oblast into a tourism cluster offering a full range of services.

A lot of things have already been done for attraction of tourists in the region. Several press tours have been held recently with the purpose to show various opportunities of the area and the progress that has been achieved. Industrial tourism which can surely be called one of the fashion trends not only in Russia, but also in world tourism, is referred to as an undervalued opportunity by the regional authorities. There is a great number of companies which could become tourism objects in Tver Oblast.

The Governor of Tver Oblast Andrei Shevelev named a unique gold embroidery factory, Kanakovsk TPP, Kalinin NPP, the shoe factory in Kimry, the winery in Vesyegonsk, Tver Carriage Factory among those objects. Some of the enterprises are concentrated in Kalinin District - the largest of the 36 districts of Tver Oblast. Their convenient location attracts investors to the construction of new enterprises and placement of large logistics terminals there. That authorities of Kalinin District were first to announce the development of industrial tourism. During the press tour it became clear that the project is really being conceived. The journalists saw several enterprises, but they have become almost the first tourists at these objects, including: the coffee processing plant “Paulig”, the “Hitachi” plant, the publishing and printing complex “Pareto-Print”, the fur farm “Mermeriny” and the plant for production of compact tapered bearing units for railbound vehicles “SKF”.

Of course, the industrial tourism will be offered in conjunction with other forms of tourism. Tver Oblast allows you to form any route. Poetry lovers will be interested in the new House of Poetry of Andrei Dementyev, the fans of active leisure will appreciate the opportunities of the country complex "Volzanka" which offers not only a full range of services, including a landing site for small aircrafts, but also high-quality outdoor recreation and an excellent cuisine.

The restaurant and hotel club “Zavidovo” will attract the lovers of good food, comfort and relaxing recreation, as well as hunters and fishermen. You can go back to Moscow not only through the traditional Leningradskoe Highway, but also through Volokolamskoe Highway with visits to the villages with ancient history and monuments of architecture, such as Pushkino and Mikulino, as “Tourbusiness” reports.
