The top level speedway was built near the village of Sheludkovo in Moscow Oblast under the guidance of Hermann Tilke - the architect who designed numerous speedways, including almost all modern F1 speedways and the speedway at the Sochi motor track.
Moscow Raceway has been built for a long time: the construction began in 2008 and ended in 2012. As a result, the length of the motor track costing almost 5 billion roubles made up about 4 km. The track has 15 turns. The longest direct line amounts to 873 meters. The maximum speed that one can develop is 311 km/h. During the first two years the motor track had no right to host the “royal race”- there were not enough stars in the “safety” column. Only test drives were permitted. But several other famous races have been held here during the two years: Renault World Series, DTM Series, “Gran Turismo”, FIA GT and others.
Additional works were performed in 2014, and the motor track received the highest certification rank. Now it can host also F1 series race, but in practice the decision did not change anything - the right to hold these race in Russia belongs to the Sochi motor track before 2020.
The motor track is a place of high risk, so we must always follow the signals. Especially near automobile pits, where everyone can stay during some events - such as vintage cars race “Moscow Classic Grand Prix”. A sharp beep says that the road should be freed immediately.
Anyone can check his or her speed on the motor track during special track days. It is necessary to fill out an application on the website and pay for the selected time: a 15-minute session costs 2500 roubles. It is understood that you will have your own vehicle.
Other details will be reported to you at a briefing. It is important not be shy: people come here by Ferrari and by Zhiguli as well. However, there are stringent requirements to clothes - they can be specified on the website. If you want to try out the track behind the wheel of a sports car that can be rented, the price will be considerably higher - from 18 thousand roubles per one set (with an instructor). The same set will be cheaper if you take the passenger seat - 13 thousand roubles. The enormous territory of the motor rack has parking lots, cafes, toilets and souvenir shops.
The stands are large, open, but under the roof, so there is a place to hide from the sun. During competition days a medical centre operates, there is even a baby care room.
