Third Saturday of September is a City Day: "Glorify, Gatchina". The tradition of the festival has existed since 1989.
End of February - beginning of March is a period for Russian film festival "Literature and Cinema". It has taken place since 1995. The program of the festival is made by movies-film adaptation or pictures created on the grounds of literary works. Grand Prix for the best film is called "Garnet Bracelet".

Suburbs of Gatchina are associated with Alexander Pushkin, his family and literary characters.
