Weekend tours to Nizhny Novgorod will surely appeal to those who are interested in the history and culture of  Russia and  want  to familiarize themselves with its rich architectural heritage, enjoy the magnificent Volga landscapes, and visit the unique cathedrals and museums of this city.

The easiest way to get from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod is by the night train, that arrives early in the morning, so you will have plenty of time for sightseeing. By the morning “Strizh” Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod train you will reach your destination in just 4 hours. The journey by rail from St. Petersburg to Nizhny Novgorod can take from 14 to 22 hours.  The flight Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod - Moscow will take about  one and a half hours one way.



A tour to Nizhny Novgorod can include both city tours and trips to neighboring cities in order to see the sights of the Nizhny Novgorod region. In the city itself, it is recommended to get acquainted with such architectural monuments as the Kremlin, which is the heart of the city; and with its numerous towers and the Cathedral of the Archangel, which was founded when the city was set. Also the Kremlin complex includes the Art Museum, the Nizhny Novgorod Memorial, the Philharmonic Hall, and the alley of Victory.

Nizhny Novgorod “Arbat” is considered the pedestrian street Pokrovskaya, where one of the oldest Russian theaters, as well as many restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops are located.



If the duration of the tour is two days or more, you can consider tours to Nizhny Novgorod, offering excursions  around  the Nizhny Novgorod region - for example,  Arzamas or the village of Bolshoe Boldino, where the museum-estate of Alexander Pushkin is located, or  the most ancient city of Gorodets, the hallmark of which is the museum tourist complex "City of Masters". From Nizhny Novgorod, you can also travel to Vladimir (the road will take about 3.5 hours),  Arzamas  (located 100 km from the city), or the picturesque town of Pavlovo.
