Excursion routes to places of military hospitals will be created in Sochi.
Sochi authorities organized the Victory committee preparing the resort city to celebrate the 75th anniversary of victory in the World War II.
In preparation for the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the World War II, the main attention will be paid to veterans.
Maintaining the continuity of generations lies at the heart of the regional project "Historical memory". Within the framework of the project, excursion routes to the places of military hospitals will be created in Sochi. The main emphasis will be on the history of Sochi as a hospital city. During the walking excursions, participants will see the locations of military hospitals, and find out about the fate of the Soviet troops who were treated there, and the doctors who saved lives of about 400 thousand people.
In accordance with the register of objects of historical and cultural heritage, all the monuments, graves of the participants in the war, including fraternal ones, will be cleaned up. Pupils of military-patriotic clubs will take part in this process.
Under the auspices of the 75th anniversary of Victory, the resort will host cultural, sports and military-patriotic events. Particular attention will be paid to local history activities, and search work.
All the celebrations will be based on historical materials about the events of the Great Patriotic War that took place in Sochi, and about the Sochi people who went to the front. 18 of them received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Stories about all of them will be published in the media and social networks. Currently, employees of the Museum of the History of the resort city are working on the systematization of archival data.
