July 22, 2014 09:55

The top three of the Russian sites of attraction include the monuments of St. Petersburg: the list is topped by the Church of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ (Savior on the Blood Church), the second line is taken by the “Peterhof” park ensemble, and the top three is closed by Catherine Palace and the Park in Pushkin. The rating was prepared by the travel web-portal “TripAdvisor”.

Novgorod Kremlin took the 10th place by the number of recommendations and positive reviews. Novgorod Detinets built by the Prince Vladimir is the oldest surviving Kremlin in Russia: it is celebrating its 970 anniversary in 2014. “In my opinion, this is definitely the most beautiful kremlin in Russia! The Kremlin amazed with its grandeur, especially against the background of the picturesque moat. It is a place necessary to visit; it is our history - and one of the greatest of its pages!”- one of the tourists admires.

“Every Russian should visit this place. “The Russian spirit is here, it is the scent of Russia ...” It is interesting to see the things I saw on the pages of textbooks with my own eyes” - another comment goes.

Visiting the Novgorod Kremlin the guests can immediately get to know several key attractions of Veliky Novgorod: the Cathedral of St. Sophia, the Wisdom of God (1045-1050) and the Sofia belfry, the “Millennium of Russia” monument (1862), the Facets  Chamber (1433) and the  Novgorod Museum of History - one of the oldest museums in Russia founded in 1865 by Nikolai Bogoslovsky as “Novgorod Museum of Antiquities” - the press-service of the “Centre for the Development of Tourism of Novgorod Oblast “Red Izba” reports. Many travelers pay attention to cleanliness and good order of the Kremin, as well as the fact that a visit to Novgorod Kremlin is free for all visitors.

“You can spend a day here and won’t even notice it. Everything is interconnected in a harmonious way -  the grandeur of the past, the ease of the present, the haze of the future. They deliver theatrical performances here. When you have walked enough, take the ship along Volkhov “- the tourists who visited Veliky Novgorod recommend.
