August 1, 2015 18:15

The largest water art object of Chelyabinsk is the fountain at the Revolutsii Square that for the first time worked in September 2014. This year the residents of the city enjoy the view of the fountain during the whole warm season.

The fountain is open every day from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and half an hour later on weekends and holidays, so that more people could see the water game in action. The fountain stays in the light and music show mode from Monday to Friday for 45 minutes beginning from 9 a.m.

On weekends a full hour and a half concert is delivered to people, beginning from 9 a.m. Once a month they conduct preventive works: experts clean the bowls of the fountain, the water is replaced, the serviceability of all systems is checked.

The fountain is maintained by three workers who produce the launch, replacement and washing of filters, cleaning and other maintenance work. The fountain itself is a complex engineering structure consisting of piping systems with the length exceeding 500 m, 20 pumps of various capacities, 113 nozzles, a water filtration system, automation panels; it is fully controlled by the computer.

The total power used by it amounts to 110 kW, about 315 m3 of water circulating through the closed loop filters is simultaneously contained in the bowl and in the pipes of the fountain. The water pattern is created by the following types of jets: a foam column, fog, rotating jets, laminar jets, intermittent jets.

The highest jet rises up to 13 meters. The jets are highlighted by 141 special lamps. All this makes it possible to create a variety of water paintings.
