The main tourist lure of the Teletskoye Lake is the incredibly beautiful waterfalls located next to it. The biggest and most popular of them is the Corbu Waterfall, it falls down from a height of more than 12 meters at a few-meter distance from the right shore of the lake, on the Bolshaya Corbu River.
By the way, the deepest point of the Teletskoye Lake - 330 meters – is marked opposite to it. Another spectacular waterfall is Kishte which is eight meters high. It is located on the territory of the Altai Nature Reserve, one of the biggest in Russia. The territory of the reserve contains Abakansky and Shapshalsky ridges, as well as the largest waterfall of Altai - Bolshoy Chulchinsky (150 meters).
The waterfall that is located closest to the village is located on the Tretya River, you can reach it from the village of Artabash by feet through the trodden path within thirty minutes. Artabash is located on the northern shore of the lake, on the origin of the Biya River – in the place where it flows out of the lake, on the border of the Altai Reserve. You can reach the village by your own car (no permits are required). There are a lot of tourist centres near Artabash, it is convenient to go to walks through the lake from these places.
There is also the village of Yaylyu on the northern shore, but it is the territory of the reserve. Yaylyu can be reached only by water after you receive a permit from the reserve administration. The Teletskoye Lake has a comfortable bay called Stone (Kamenny) Bay by the locals. It is a kind of a stone bowl bordered by forests, near the village of Iogach, on the shore opposite to Artybash. It is always very quiet and beautiful here - the place is perfect for picnics and relaxation far away from civilization. The mountain group of Altyn Tu is located very close to the Teletskoye Lake. The height of the mountain top that is closest to the lake makes up 2298 meters.
