Trigorskoye Estate
July 5, 2016 18:25

Trigorskoye estate belonging to Praskovya A. Osipova-Woulf is considered to be the most romantic of all estates in the Pushkinogorye. This is the world of "Eugene Onegin".

It is well known that the sisters Larins’ had something from sisters Woulf and their brother Alex considered himself as the prototype of Lenskiy. The hostess was like a "little old lady" Larina by the ability to run the house, prudence and hospitality. It seems that Trigorskoye manor was reconstructed directly according to the novel in verse: there is Onegin’s bench in the estate’s park, which is not allowed to sit on and Tatiana’s Alley planted with old lime trees. In addition to literary places, there is a "green room", something like an old dance hall in the open air, sun clock with dials of old oaks, a cascade of ponds and beehives and pharmaceutical kitchen garden in the English park.

The estate, as well as all buildings in the Pushkin Mountains was almost completely rebuilt. In 1918 it was burned down by local peasants, and in 1962 it was recreated with the help of old photographs and descriptions of the beginning of century. Later, in 1978, the bathhouse was reconstructed, where Pushkin caroused with Alex Woulf and young Yazykov. It is a summer house with a bathroom, where the guests could stay. Now the exhibition hall is located in the bathhouse.
