From September 2 to 9, 2013 The Festival of Ethnocultural and Educational Tourism "Zhuravli", dedicated to 90th birthday anniversary of Rasul Gamzatov to be held in Dagestan.

The main purposes of the event are acquaintance with places related with life and work of Gamzatov; popularization and development of mass tourism and recreation; exploration of cultural heritage of Dagestan peoples; promotion of healthy lifestyle and development of patriotism among the youth.

The festival is offering the following activities:

• local history feast on the best knowledge of history and geography of native land;
• "Dad, Mom and me – a Tourist Family" competition of mass tourism and recreation;
• climbing competition;
• mountain bike competition (cross-country);
• jeeping competition;
• open international championship of foot tourism "Closing the Tourist Season 2013";
• open Republican contest for the best recitation of Rasul Gamzatov’s verses about home land.

The holiday concert featuring talented young performers, children's and youth ensembles will end the Festival.
