"VISIT ALTAI - 2014": Exhibitions, Festivals And Competitions

"VISIT ALTAI - 2014" International Tourism Forum for the first time will be held in Altai Krai.

The meeting on the participation of the Altai Krai in large-scale exhibitions in 2014 was held on January 29. The meeting was hosted by "Tourist Center of Altai Krai" regional state budgetary establishment, the main organizer of the upcoming exhibition events. Traditionally, the exhibitions are held prior to the high tourist season from March to April. We are talking about events that will take place this spring – “ITB-2014" (Berlin, Germany), "Inturmarket-2014" (Moscow) and "Travel and Tourism. MITT-2014 "(Moscow), the International Tourism Exhibition" Travel and Tourism (Novosibirsk)." The region participates in these exhibitions regularly for the last eight years, and interest in the Altai region is growing from year to year. “Therefore, this year again our exhibition should be presented bright and stick in visitors' memories," the deputy head of the Tourist Center of Altai Krai, Sergey Popovich said.

Besides that, from April 25 to May 1, for the first time, the region will host "VISIT ALTAI - 2014" Altai International Tourism Forum. It will combine several events: 4th Regional Specialized Exhibition "AltayTur. Altai resort", "Flowering Ledum" Festival and regional competition of "Leaders of tourist industry." Also, as part of the forum, there will be implemented the "Professional Shopper" program, where tour operators from various regions of Russia will present the potential of Altai Krai in the tourism sector.

The event will be held in Barnaul, in the Smolensk region ("Siberian farmstead" Tourist and Entertainment Complex) and in Altai Krai in "Turquoise Katun", the special economic area of tourist and recreational type. ATC experts told about the specifics of the events, as well as how to take part in them effectively. Sergey Popovich thinks that, collective stand will allow all representatives of tourist sector of Altai Krai to take part in international exhibitions and to offer their tourism products to both, Russian and international customers at a high scale.

As of today, the intention to participate in international exhibitions was announced by nearly 100 different organizations of Altai Krai. In the Krai, a big intention is paid to attracting not only Russian, but also foreign tourists. Participation in these exhibitions allows demonstrating the region's tourist potential the most effectively. This year, the Altai Krai will be the general partner of "Intourmarket 2014" exhibition. This status provides the best conditions for more effective promotion of regional tourism product and creating a positive image of the region. The expected number of visitors is 85,000 people.
