The festival of historical reconstruction "Dushonovo Maneuvers" will be held on June 27-29, 2014 in the village of Dushonovo, Moscow Oblast. This is one of the oldest military history festivals in Europe and the first in Russia.
Over the years the festival has grown into a full-scale, bright and meaningful event that brings together hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators. The geography of reenactors coming to the land of Dushonovo, covers the entire continent from France to the Far East and more than a thousand years of the history of our country. "Dushonovo Maneuvers" feature the following historical periods: Ancient Rome; Early medieval (9-11 cc.) Time of Troubles (17 c.) Peter's reforms (18 c.) Patriotic War of 1812; The First World War; The Civil War; The Great Patriotic War; Modern Wars. In 2014, the Russian and world history celebrate the 100th anniversary of the First World War.
This tragic day marked the beginning of catastrophic changes in the life of the Russian state and the rapid acceleration in global processes. We will observe the 700th anniversary of the birth of the Venerable Sergius of Radonezh; the 300th anniversary of the Suvorov's trek over the Alps; the 200th anniversary of the victorious Russian troops' ceremonial entrance to Paris; the 70th anniversary of raising the Leningrad blockade; the 25th anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan; the 20th anniversary of the outbreak of the First Chechen War; 10 years of Beslan
Unlike traditional historical reconstructions, which show just one episode, taken from history, at our festival we allow spectators and participants to see in one period of time a live picture of the various eras and events in the history of Russia. Besides, the festival is extended in time and space, which allows not only reviving battles and historical events of our history, but also plunging into the life, culture and traditions of our ancestors' periods of life, bygone, but inextricably connected with us.
