Tula Oblast participates in the “Real Russia” project presenting the small towns of the region with a colorful history and a unique culture, as the press service of the regional government reports.

In particular, the project involves such towns as Venev, Belev and Odoev. Under the project the journalists, photographers and experts visited Venev and Belev as ordinary tourists, paying attention to all details of the travel: infrastructure, state of museums, roads, availability of information about the objects on the Internet.

After that a team of experts summarized the results of their work as a part of an organized seminar. One of the most successful and dynamically developing specialized forms of tourism in Tula Oblast is gastronomic tourism. Alongside with well-known Tula gingerbread and Belevsky fruit candy, a new gastronomic brand called Venevka or Veneva has appeared thanks to the “Real Russia” project.

The new brand very quickly entered the life of the region, the product is already sold and in demand. As for today, the examination of Odoev is completed. The experts visited the museum of Filimonovo toy, the local history museum, examined all sights, estimating the accessibility of facilities, their appearance and the presentation of sights, the integrity of collections, qualification of tour guides, as well as the quantity and quality of tourist infrastructure objects and other things. The results of work of the expert group in Odoev will be covered at the forthcoming seminar to be held on November 24. It is planned to discuss the issues of impact of aerotourim and folk arts and crafts on the development of tourism in the small historic town, the report said. Previously it was reported that Tula Oblast was going to receive about 2 million tourists in 2014, according to “Interfax”.
