Real space food is now available to everyone.
One can taste the authentic food in tubes which was only available on the transport spaceships and orbital stations until recently at the ENEA in the legendary Pavilion No. 32 “Kosmos” (“Space”).
Edible souvenirs are produced at the same factory and by the same super technologies as the food for astronauts’ diet. They can be purchased only in one place - in special robotic devices installed in the “Kosmos” Pavilion. The space nutrition will be the first step to the return of the legendary historical exposition to the “Kosmos” Pavilion.
The former glory and content will be returned to the historical pavilion by the exposition of the United Rocket and Space Corporation and other subordinate enterprises of the military and industrial complex of Russia. It is expected that the works on the reconstruction of the pavilion and the organization of the exhibition will be held until the end of 2017. The visitors of the ENEA will now be able to try 11 space dishes from the main supplier of food for Russian astronauts - Biryulevsky Experimental Factory (“BEF” FSUE).
The developer of this food is the Research Institute of Food Concentrates and Special Food Technology established 50 years ago that created a technology for production of food for astronauts staying on the orbit. Today the production is performed specially for the ENEA by the “Laboratory of Space Food” CJSC together with “BEF” FSUE. Basically, this food is very satisfying, high-calorie food consisting of meat and vegetables.
The space menu at the ENEA includes: first courses (beet-root soup (borshch), green soup (shchi), kharcho, pickle soup (rassolnik), second courses (marinated mutton, pork with vegetables, mashed meat) and desserts (cottage cheese with sea buckthorn, apricot, apple and black currant purees).
The cost of one tube at the “Kosmos” Pavilion is 300 roubles. The sale of space food starts on Friday, February 6, at the Pavilion No. 32 “Kosmos”. The access to the device is open during the working hours of the pavilion. Currently the exhibition “The Mechanics of Miracle” is operating there. It is open to visitors until March 28, 2015 every day except Monday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., as the press service of the ENEA reports.
