Event Tourism Will Be Developed In Tula Oblast
January 13, 2017 17:14

Various directions of event tourism will be developed in Bogoroditsky District of Tula Oblast. Its hallmark will be a cascade of ponds and the embankment of Bogoroditsk.

During the reconstruction the embankment will be equipped with viewing platforms, venues for concerts and other events. In order to attract tourists, it is suggested to open new show facilities: museums, areas for conducting workshops and interactive thematic programs, monuments and other art objects.

Excursion programs will also be formed. Bogoroditsk Palace Museum is the former estate of Bobrinskys earls. It is an architectural monument of XVIII century - the object of cultural heritage of federal importance protected by the state. The family of Bobrinskys is descended from Aleksey Bobrinsky – the illegitimate son of Catherine II and Grigory Orlov. A. Bobrinsky was a prominent statesman, a Railways Minister.

The museum complex includes a palace with 13 exposition rooms with the area of about 800 square meters, a 53-hectare park and an entrance tower. In 1941 the palace was almost completely destroyed. In 1960 a decision was taken concerning the revival of the estate. In 1988 Bogoroditsk Palace Museum was opened to the public, its funds account for almost 15 thousand exhibits. The museum receives more than 65 thousand visitors annually. Bogoroditsk Palace Museum and its park are included in the “Russian Estates” federal tourist route.
