Military Historical Tourism Development

The national calendar of events compiled a rating of the tourist attractiveness of the regions of Russia from the point of  the development of military historical tourism.

The rating is based on assessing the number of historical events conducted in the regions of Russia (the period from June 1 to August 31), as well as interest in the region as a venue for military historical festivals on the Internet (in terms of the number of queries in search engines).

The TOP-10 regions for the development of military-historical tourism included:

1. The Moscow region
2. The Leningrad Region
3. The Pskov Region
4. The Chelyabinsk Region
5. St. Petersburg
6. The Vologda Oblast
7. The Lipetsk region
8. The Republic of Tatarstan
9. The Penza region
10. The Kaliningrad Region

In August, three historical reconstructions will be held in the Leningrad Region: "To Berlin! Sturm of Seelow Heights ", regional holiday "Day of the First capital of Russia - Staraya Ladoga ", military historical festival "Karelian frontiers".

In the Pskov region in the first half of the month there will be a festival of medieval culture "Iron City", and in the Vologda region - "Sugorje".

Lipetsk region in the second half of August organizes the historical festival "Ridefield Field", and in Tatarstan the main reconstruction event of the region will take place - the festival of the medieval battle "The Great Bolgar". In the Penza region there will be a reconstruction, dedicated to the participation of Penza in the Patriotic War of 1812, "The Field of Mars". At the end of the summer, the "Gumbinnen battle" will be held in the Kaliningrad region.
