The only route in the world "Observation of polar whales" is offered to tourists who come to the Khabarovsk Territory. There is no similar tourist route anywhere in the world.

A total of about 400 individuals of Greenlandic or polar whales remained on the earth. The route was developed jointly with Russian and foreign scientists so that, first of all, not to interfere with polar whales. Excursions will be conducted on boats with low-noise motors and, according to the instructions, the route will not have to cross the path of the animals. The tour is designed for 12 days.

The season on the Shantar Islands is short and lasts only two full months - from the end of July to the middle of September. In total this year not more than 300 tourists will be able to visit Shantarsky Islands within the limits of the given route. The cost of the tour starts from 130 thousand rubles.

The Shantar Islands is a part of Tuguro-Chumikansky district of the Khabarovsk Territory. It includes 15 islands. The total area of the archipelago is 2.5 thousand kilometers.
