The Russian steam bath (“Banya”) built at the “Gazprom” resort in Sochi was included into the Book of Records of Russia. It won the title of a steam bath located at the highest altitude in Russia. The record with the result of 256 meters was officially registered by Stanislav Konenko, the Editor-in-Chief of the Russian Book of Records.
“I have never seen anything like this in Russia! Moreover, even the Guinness Book of Records has no records connected with the altitude of location of a steam bath, so this record can be considered unique!” - Stanislav Konenko told. “I have a huge experience in registering of a wide variety of records; but I had the chance to award a diploma at such a high altitude for the first time. The location of the steam bath, panoramic views around it, the engineering constructions of the building impressed me a lot!” The steam bath with the self-explanatory name #NotJustaRussianBath opened at the “Gazprom” resort in spring of 2018.
Indeed, the interest in this unique Russian bath was fueled by comments in social networks for one month. Many people were surprised by its unusual location: #NotJustaRussianBath is located at an altitude of 2256 meters, on the “Alpica” slope. The resort chose platform with the most panoramic view for the construction of the Russian bath. The “Shelter of Winds” platform (2256 meters) offers fantastic views of the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea.
