Master classes with the participation of folk artists, trainings in cooking gingerbreads, exhibitions and sales of gastronomic brands have been held in the Tula Kremlin last weekend as a part of the holiday dedicated to the opening of the tourist season.

Everyone could take part in master classes in painting on Filimonovo toys, cooking Tula gingerbreads and “Shar-papier” toys from pressed paper, as well as drink tea from a Tula samovar weighing three hundred tons. In addition, the participants of the holiday could enjoy special exhibitions and sales of sweet gastronomic brands, souvenirs and original toys.

A sightseeing bus made its first trip through the streets of Tula during the holiday; the trips on it were free. Now the bus will run through the streets of the city on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and show local attractions to tourists. Ticket prices will be equal to fares in ordinary city transport.

There are 226 tourist routes in the region and 114 inter-regional tourist routes involving it. More than 650 thousand people visited Tula Oblast with tourist purposes in 2017, which is 12% more than in 2016. More than 3 million people visited the region with one-day trips for various purposes, including sightseeing.
