Yachts and catamarans racing will be held in Vyborg at the festival of water tourism.   

The second festival of water tourism of the Leningrad region will be held in Vyborg on September 7, the event director Denis Soldatkin said. “This is actually a very interesting project, because there are no similar water areas as the one located in Vyborg. Now we know how to conduct competitions in this water area - as there is no bottom on the maps - we measured it ourselves. Finally they removed the floating hotel, and this year we can hold full-fledged competitions," he explained.

At 11.00 on the Market Square, recreation and entertainment areas, a food court and children's attractions will start to work. At 12.00, as part of the opening ceremony, a parade of small vessels  will be held in the Northern Harbor. During the day, the Gardarika show band, Favorite orchestra, bard Alexei Rodin, Action and Nevada  cover bands will perform on the main stage of the festival. A special program for the festival was prepared by the soloist of the Mariinsky Theater Leonid Zakhozhaev together with the Quintet of Four ensemble of Russian folk instruments.

“We are doubling the berth compared to last year, because the flow of participants is quite large. We will definitely do master classes in kayaking. We set such ambitious tasks, and I hope we succeed. The main thing is to be lucky with the weather," Soldatkin emphasized.

Everyone will be able to ride on boats and catamarans, learn how to provide first aid on water and knit marine knots. Free walking tours "Vyborg Sea History" will start from Lenin Square. The festival will include competitions of small  class yachts, sailing catamarans and SUP surfers, a relay race on pella boats, as well as demonstrations of Laguna-combi class boats, sports canoes, various types of kayaks, boats and jet skis. The festival will end with a festive fireworks  visible over the Northern Harbor.



In 2019, the festival is dedicated to a healthy lifestyle. Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Tourism of the Leningrad Region Rimma Sachunova stressed that the authorities of the region intend to develop cruise tourism.
