New Tour Services on Trans-Siberian Railroad

Train Moscow-Beijing at Yaroslavsky Railway station

New exclusive tour on Trans-Siberian Railway starts this summer. A special tourist train Moscow - Beijing on Trans-Mongolian route of world-longest rail road will make its first voyage in August, 2011. As soon as the train is a tourist one, level of comfort provided in it will be higher than in usual Russian trains. Tourist train will make many stops for sightseeing and excursions, so the journey will be longer as usual Trans-Siberian trip Moscow-Beijing on the train N 004, departing regularly from Yaroslavsky Railway station, Moscow.

The tour is organized by RZhD-Tour (related structure of FPK, subsidiary company of Russian Railways) in cooperation with Intourist, first-rate Russian tour operator. First trip of the special tourist train Moscow-Beijing will start on August, 14, 2011 in Moscow. It will arrive to Beijing on August, 26. After 2-days excursion program the train will start out on August, 28 to arrive to Moscow on September, 15. The train will be on route 2-3 weeks in order to let the passengers to visit cities and monuments of nature on their way.

Among the cities to be visited by the tourists with guided excursions are Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ulan-Ude, Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) and Erlian (China).

Moreover, a tour on Circum-Baikal railroad is also included into the excursion program. Circum-Baikal railroad is called sometimes "golden buckle on the Russia's steel belt". It is a railway, getting round Baikal Lake. It is not made of gold, but it cost so much and the result was so beautiful and technically sophisticated, that it is worth to be compared with a jewel.

Having arrived to Mongol capital Ulaanbaator the tourists will have an excursion program and then spend a night in a real Mongol yurt - traditional nomadic tent. After that the train will follow to China.
 

The tourist train Beijing-Moscow was presented at the workshop dealing with the role of railways in the development of European tourism in the Italian city of Merano.

The cars of the train, couchette cars, sleepers and Luxury ones are comfortably designed for a long journey. Compartments of the couchette cars are rated for 3-4 passengers, while ones in sleepers and Luxury - for 1-2 persons. The train will be provided with 2 dining cars, bar-car and canteen-car, special car with shower cabins for passengers of couchette cars, while people traveling in sleepers and Luxury cars will have showers in their compartment as well as WC and washstand.

Refreshment cars will offer passengers dishes of national cuisine of the regions on the way and tasting of local delicacies.

Groups of foreign tourists will be provided with interpreters.

Tickets for this train can be booked through Intourist and RZhD-Tour as well.

By the way, there are some short-term tour programs. The same companies organize tourist trains Moscow-Novgorod the Great-Moscow. Excursion program takes one day, the first trip starts on May, 7.
