Most of the people choose Sheremetyevo International Airport while booking air tickets to Moscow. However, a bit of flexibility in choice of airports can help you save hundreds of dollars on your air travel. Domodedovo International Airport is a good alternative in terms of money, time and comfort. The airport can be conveniently reached by Aeroexpress speed trains with a train station located directly inside the airport. Many international airline carriers, including Lufthansa and British Airways use Domodedovo. It is also the main hub of Transaero(the largest domestic airline carrier in Russia) and S7.

It is advised to book tickets three months in advance to get the best fare because airfares of flights to Moscow tend to rise as the departure date approaches. If not three months or three weeks in advance, book them at least 7 days in advance otherwise you may have to pay a considerably high price for the same seat. If you are booking a return ticket to Moscow, make sure to check the Sunday rule. Most of the airlines providing services to Moscow have a condition to spend one Saturday night in Moscow to get the best deal.
